A roaring weekend of fun as the ‘Old Boys Tag Rugby 7’s Carnival’ kicks off this June
An exciting seven-a-side Tag Rugby Tournament with a twist, Rugby Rumble 2014 will bring former college rugby stars back on pitch for a fun filled revival of great sporting action in a heady carnival style atmosphere.
A fantastic event full of festivities, it will combine all the thrills and spills of great rugby, a fairground atmosphere as well as nights of stellar entertainment in one exhilarating fiesta.
The rugby sevens will comprise two teams from A Division schools from two different eras. To add more spice to the scrum, two female players will also be included in each team.
Battling it out in league formation on twin playing fields, the teams will vie for trophies and cash prizes to the value of Rs. 700,000/-. Away from the pitch, there will be Sri Lanka’s first ever wakeboarding machine, a kiddies’ corner with water slide, bouncing castle, and face painting; and plenty of food and drinks at hawker style stalls. An international band Shagies from Singapore and Sri Lanka’s top DJ’s will rock the night in a grand after party too.
